Produced at our Vire (Normandy) manufactory, our silver-plated collections have demonstrated the House's excellent craftsmanship since the 1970s.
Precisely worked, silver adorns our collections with refinement and is a guarantee of absolute elegance.
The silver is deposited on the stainless steel in our workshops, with the knife blades being spared to preserve their cutting characteristics. The human hand intervenes more than 10 times, each of these manual operations guaranteeing, step by step, an exceptional product.
Our collections of silver-plated cutlery are distinguished by their hallmark, a guarantee of the quality of the precious metal and the savoir-faire of the master silversmith.
This indicates:
- The quality of silver plating defined by the thickness of the silver deposit used to make the cutlery set
- The silversmith: the leopards, emblems of Normandy, surmount the initials "GD" for "Guy Degrenne."
Guy Degrenne silverware meets the highest standards guaranteed by the square "I" quality hallmark stamped on all pieces. The standard requires an average thickness of 33 microns on the main pieces, which is about 84g of silver for 12 dinner forks and 12 dinner spoons.
Our silver-plated cutlery is made from the highest quality stainless steel. All our knife blades are made from special cutlery steel. These blades are not silver-plated to preserve their cutting quality.
Our range of silver-plated cutlery is also available at Guy Degrenne physical stores.
Use and precautions
The daily use of our silver-plated cutlery is the best guarantee against oxidation.
To preserve the nobility of your cutlery, our cases are designed to limit contact with the air. In case of slight discoloration, simply revive the metal with the dedicated chamois cloth.
Although perfectly suitable for dishwashers, your silverware deserves some care:
- Use powdered detergents.
- Rinse knives immediately after use.
- Ensure perfect drying at the end of the cycle.
- Avoid mixing with other metals during washing.
- Store your pieces away from humidity.
